Studies show that students from low-income families score significantly lower in the SAT/ACT, limiting their chances to get into a quality college. The College Board now agrees that taking an SAT prep course can increase a test takers score, in some cases by as much as 200 points.
Recent scholarship recipient, Leticia Nunes, says, “I knew that to get into my dream school I had to increase my SAT scores...yet I did not know how I was going to pay for tutoring and bootcamps. Mindworks Prep was the only one who helped me to conquer my goal by offering me a scholarship.” The bootcamp helped Nunes increase her SAT score enough to earn two additional scholarships for college. Now she’s packing her bags to begin her freshman year in just a few weeks.
Andrea Catsicas of MindWorks Prep (www.mindworksprep.com) says, “We’re not just teaching correct answers on the SAT, we’re really changing the direction of their life one correct answer at a time.” Studies show that students from affluent families spend about seven times the amount of money on SAT prep than students from low income homes. Catsticas says she is offering the $5,000 in scholarships to close this gap and ensure every student has the best chance to get into their dream college.
